Facebook’s annual developer conference, F8, is a multi-day event for developers and entrepreneurs to learn about the latest innovations from Oculus, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and, of course, Facebook itself.
Capturing the essence of F8
We were commissioned to concept, design and build a stand-out digital experience that brought the festival to life. Our response–a 360º immersive installation at the heart of the space, designed to respond to attendees movement and engage them with the essence of each app.
Connecting the space
Anchoring the space at the centre of the F8 Festival Hall stood 5 double-sided 6x2 meter LED totems–unifying the hall and creating explicit connections with the neighbouring product pavilions.
5 unique experiences
Each brand was captured through its own interactive mode. Cameras at the base of each totem reacted to attendees movement, creating unique visual effects that responded to the people inside in the installation.
From travelling through new worlds with Oculus to painting with light for Instagram, each mode captured the essence of each brand, and the festival itself.
